El Prado |
Botanical Gardens |
Sunday was not a very exciting day at all. I went to El
Prado with a few people which is a world famous art museum here in Madrid. The
building was HUGE so after reading a few art descriptions and looking at a few
rooms full of historical art I got……bored. We decided to only look at the 40ish
famous pieces on display. The beneficial thing about El Prado is that students
get in for free. After El Prado we went to lunch at 100 Mondatitos of course!
Little did we know, everything on the menu was 1 euro on Friday’s which was
excellent. When in doubt, go to 100
Mondatitos!! We devoured our little sandwiches and sangria then scurried off to
the Botanical Jardin (garden). The garden was desolate and quiet. Not many
people were there. They had a diverse variety of plant life which was neat to
see along with multiple fountains. We concluded our day with a trip to the Real
Madrid Stadium. In case you did not know, Real Madrid is the most valuable
sports enterprise in the WORLD. Our goal was to find a vendor selling jerseys we
could wear to a game next week, but there was no one there except tour groups
touring the stadium. We will have to keep looking!
