The “French Way” of the St. James Way

This past weekend I was required to attend a group trip with my Spanish Culture and Civilization class. According to the trip description, “the trip itinerary visits the most popular route of the St. James Way in Spain (Camino de Santiago). This route is the called the French Way or "In-land" Way. It enters Spain from France through the Pyrenees in Navarra. In the Medieval times, Navarra was a kingdom of its own for a long period of time and the first kingdom that the Northern European pilgrims encountered in the Iberian Peninsula. This is why many small towns and villages contain great examples of European Medieval art, both Romanesque and Gothic styles that will be visited during this trip.” That is exactly what I did plus a little more!
